The EpicureDB Account

Introduction
The EpicureDB account is a menu driven interface which provides the
control to start and stop the Epicure Distributed Database System,
rollback database versions, and account management
options
.
Getting started
In order to access the EpicureDB account, one must be authorized by acquiring
the password and being placed onto the ``authorized access list''. Furthermore, one
may request a privileged access by being placed on the ``privileged access list''. Any
access must be authorized by the RDCS system management group.
After the appropriate authorization has been granted to the new operator, they
may log into the EpicureDB account by typing the DCL command ``set host warner'' and entering
the correct username/password after the prompts. The main menu and EDB_$ prompt will appear. The
operator is required to type one of the keywords
listed in the menu that performs an operation.
The operator is required to enter data on the main menu or any submenu within four
minutes or they shall be logged out or exited from the submenu.
The following sections describe the options and submenus available to the operator.
Main Menu Options
This section provides a description of each option available on the
main menu. The operator is required to enter a keyword within four minutes
or a logout will occur. Below is a list of each option available at the main
menu.
- MGR
- - Account management menu. The user must be a member of
the account management group to access this menu.
- ROLLBACK
- - Invokes the database version rollback application.
- STARTEDDS
- - Startup the EDDS database system.
- STOPEDDS
- - Shutdown the EDDS database system.
- LOGOUT
- - Logout of the EpicureDB account.
Manager Submenu
The Account Supports a management submenu which allows a
manager the means to execute privileged commands. Below lists the
menu option.
- CCSRT
- - Startup Camac/Cryo report sort.
- DBSAMNU
- - Enter DBSAServer SubMenu.
- DBSCNMNU
- - Enter DBScanner SubMenu.
- DCL
- - Enter DCL.
- DELITMLST
- - Delete item list.
- DISDBSRV
- - Distribute a new DBServer image.
- GETITMLST
- - Get new item list.
- LOCKACC
- - Lock account out from users.
- SOALMNU
- - Enter Source To OA/LAL Translator SubMenu.
- UNLOCKACC
- - Unlock account.
- EXIT
- - Exit this menu.
- LOGOUT
- - Logout.
DBSAServer Option Menu
The following commands execute and maintain the DBSAServer process files. The
DBSAServer is responsible for serializing accesses to the RMS databases,
Below lists the available options.
- START
- - Startup Process.
- STOP
- - Stop Process.
- GET
- - Get New DBSAServer Image And StartUp Procedures
- EXIT
- - Return to main menu.
- LOGOUT
- - Logout
DBScanner Option Menu
The following commands execute and maintain the DBScanner process files. The
DBScanner is responsible for monitoring the EDBServers and distributing the OA/LAL
section file databases. Below lists the available options.
- START
- - Startup DBScanner process.
- GET
- - Copy New Application And Support Files.
- EXIT
- - Return to main menu.
- LOGOUT
- - Logout
SOAL Option Menu
The following commands maintain the SOAL process files. The
SOAL is responsible for translating the RMS databases into section files
used by the EDBServer process. Below lists the available options.
- GET
- - Get New SOAL Image And StartUp Procedures.
- EXIT
- - Return to main menu.
- LOGOUT
- - Logout
