Scientific notation (2)

Program: PA0465 << Program conventions Topic Random number generator >> Main Menu

Scientific notation can be chosen for a calculation
by pressing the latching touch panel switch labelled
'EE'. If one desires to enter values in scientific
notation, a capital E must be used to indicate the
exponent since a lower case e will be interpreted as
the base of the natural logarithms.

The result of a calculation will automatically be
converted to scientific notation if it would otherwise
  overflow the answer field.

Note: FORTRAN limits values to be less than 1.7 E 38
and greater than 2.9 E -39 in absolute value.
