General Description

The basic function of the CAMAC 178 module is to provide a one to eight fanout of the 10MHz Tevatron clock signal. Additionally, this module will be able to decode up to eight individual clock events. An event record will be CAMAC readable. Decoded event pulses will be available on the front panel and rear I/O connector.

Repeater
This section will take a clock signal and repeat it out through eight spigots. The clock input will be through either the front panel or the rear I/O connector. Both input and output signals will be 50 ohm compatible.
Event Decoder
Eight events will be able to be decoded. The event will be dip switch selectable for each channel. Eight channels will be provided. 900nS pulses will occur upon decoding of a selected event. The decoded event outputs will be located on both the rear I/O connector and the front panel. The events selected will be CAMAC readable. The occurrence of a selected event will set a bit in an event record register. The event received record will be CAMAC readable and CAMAC resetable.
LAM
LAM will be asserted if either the plus or minus 24 volt power supplies are less than +/- 20V respectively.
Indicators
Each clock event channel will have an accompanying red LED to indicate the occurrence of a decoded event. A green LED will indicate whether or not a clock signal is active in the module. Yellow LEDs will indicate adequate levels on the +/- 24V CAMAC power supplies
CAMAC Function Codes
F(0)A(0-7)Read event type selected. F(0)A(0) reads DCE0 event. F(0)A(7) reads DCE7 event.
F(1)A(0)Read module status. Includes:
Tev clock active
Bit R16 set to one.
Plus 24V power supply present
Bit R15 set to one.
Minus 24V power supply present
Bit R14 set to one.
Event received record
Bits R8 through R1 are individually set upon the reception of an event selected on channels E7 through E0 respectively.
