Mac Pathworks Installation Info

For the initial installation of Mac Pathworks, you need to be able to connect to the VAX using software which already exists on your Mac. This limits you to a password which is 8 or fewer characters in length. Since WARNER and RDIV accounts have a minimum password length of 9 characters, I have provided an account with a shorter password so that you can get the Pathworks software downloaded to your Mac.

To install Pathworks on your Mac, mount the VAXshare server volume:

• from the Apple menu select the Chooser
• select the icon for AppleShare
• select AppleTalk Zone ``RD/MAIN ETHERNET''
• select file server ``VAXshare on RDIV01''
• enter username MACGUEST
• enter password INSTALL
• select volume ``PATHWORKS V1.2''
